He has elected to re-litigate the Civil War, placing treasonous Confederate generals on an equal moral plane with those who actually fought for the United States of America. And he gleefully allowed people in blue states to die. Even when he displayed apathy to his own cadre of sycophants in governors' mansions, the sycophants couldn't muster the backbone to do the right thing for their people because their people still inexplicably love Trump. That's how we got here.
