    I’m sure this was cool at the time, but dear god do they look pretentious on this cover. It’s almost as if the art direction was “make them look like a 1970s prog rock band.”

    And I say this as someone who liked REM’s music.

    Earth, Wind & Fire
    The Count Basie Orchestra
    Miles Davis Quintet

    Best American rock band? Probably the E Street Band because Bruce.

    Phish is pretty phenomenal in concert. They bring the goods. Everyone should see them live at least once.
