But what could have been done? Close the subways, trains and city buses?

You still have citizens packed like sardines in any "essential" place of business. They still live in apartments, sharing the same hallways and lobbies and laundry areas.

It's "extreme" in the sense that it's not just inviting an outbreak to get out of control; it's practically begging for it to.

Has nothing to do with peoples' personal preferences or how they view such a lifestyle.

You can view it as just life. A virus views it as paradise.

Everything that was done could have been done earlier. All the steps worked when they were taken. But Trump was still denying it and blathering about China when he could have actually acted.

Mayor Cuomo should have known better than to listen to “Drumpf.”

Sure. But you could say that about most things. Humans are an act-when-its-an-emergency species.

Try a lockdown when there is no evidence of emergency, and there will be a huge backlash. No matter how "right" it would have been in hindsight. Nature of the beast. Go through screening and take off your shoes at the airport on Sept. 10, 2001? You kidding?

Nobody wants to be "Karen" panicking in the face of no visible danger.

Jared doesn't care about his family the way they care about him.

Yeah, being a leader sometimes takes someone with leadership qualities. It's part of the job, and a skillset Trump doesn't have.

And again, he made it so much worse by causing a panic with flights from Europe flooding in.

When did we enter WWII? When Hitler took Czechoslovakia? Poland? France? How many lives around the world would have been saved had the Allies kicked the shit out of Germany in the fall of 1939?

What the hell was our "leadership" doing?!?!? Waiting until we were attacked. When the emergency hit home.

Hillary Clinton wouldn't have said a tenth of the idiotic things Trump did in February and early March. But she wouldn't have shut down the economy and thrown 35 million out of work, either --- not with HER re-election coming up.

FDR certainly wanted the U.S. to get involved long before Pearl Harbor. Couldn't get the isolationists in Congress to budge. The "America First" crowd, if you will.

As far as the Hillary stuff, you're kinda talking out of your ass there. Nobody has any idea how it would have played out with a qualified, competent leader.
