So many questions about half-sold stadiums. Not everyone can have seats on the 50 and priority points/status/whatever will only make a certain number happy. You'd like to think that some fans would be OK for a year in lousy seats under the circumstances, but many college football fans are not normal people.

I see where the Cyclones had 45,000 season-ticket holders last year. So 30,000 isn't a stretch. Unless, as others have said, customers used to sitting in good locations are dispatched to the end zones.
The appeal of the in-person experience relative to the home HDTV was already waning. I'll be curious to see how this one plays out.

UAB is in a unique position. For years, playing at Legion Field has been a handicap. It seats 70k, and 30k or so was a big crowd. Now there is room to social distance without any problems. Season ticket sales are ahead of where they were last season. Part of that involves ticket priority at the new stadium next season, but it is still remarkable under the circumstances.

So basically, just soccer and tennis. Indoor is absolutely meaningless, the track equivalent of arena football, so guys will still do CC in the fall and outdoor in the spring.

Schools like VCU and Xavier and Gonzaga may be in far better position to weather this mess because they don't have football. It's such a giant expenditure and the rewards just aren't there financially for the Apps and Akrons of the world.
