    Just to confirm other posts: That's definitely Campanella next to Gwynn, Newcombe's between Larkin and McCovey, and it is Stargell between Larkin and Reggie.

    Rickey is a top-10 player of all-time. Probably closer to top-five.

    Even today's nerdy front offices would have figured out a way to appreciate Gwynn. Ranks 36th a/t in doubles, 61st in runs created and 71st in offensive WAR. He also finished in the NL's top 10 in defensive WAR twice--at ages 31 and 32, when he was already beginning to carry extra weight.

    And his 1987 was mind-boggingly awesome: .370/.447/.511 triple slash with 82 BBs. 35 Ks and 56 steals. And he finished EIGHTH in the MVP voting!!
