    Would have thought he had died about 20 years ago. Always felt like a guy who played in the 30s, not the mid 50s

    Probably because of the western movies from the 1930s. I remember reading Paper Lion in the late 1990s and being a little confused when they referenced Cassaday’s time with the Lions. I had no idea there had been a player and then wondered if my vague knowledge of the character was wrong and had been based on a real person.
