16 games is enough — shit, more than enough.

 

I'm mostly curious where they would put the extra two games. Open up before Labor Day? Go three weeks into January? Make the Super Bowl mid to late February?

 

Drop weeks 3 and 4 of the preseason?

 

In the 60s, they had 14 regular season games and SIX exhibitions
When they expanded to 16, the exhibitions were cut to four
If they expand to 18, which means all the talk about caring for the safety of the players is bullshit, they will cut it to two exhibition games

 

If they go to the end of February with the Super Bowl and College Basketball takes over with the 2nd half of conference play and the tourneys into the beginning of April, the NBA and NHL might as well start their season Thanksgiving or Christmas with 62 game seasons.

 

The NBA should start after March Madness. I can't muster a lick of interest in their regular season anymore.

 

From the looks of things, neither can about 90 percent of the players.

 

You'd have to go to a roster of 56 and probably expand the practice squad.

 

I would add a second bye week. Only have two preseason games and don’t even play the vets. Look at preseason as Dleague games and play them at local colleges in the state where you only need to sell 20,000 or so tickets.

 

Well, I think the coaches probably want at least one all-up exhibition game.
