Another rough day in Gatehouse. My heart goes out to all of them.

Long-time hockey writer and slot person in Providence. At least two staffers in Tuscaloosa. And I know that's just the tip of the iceberg here.

The article said that Gatehouse did not buy the headquarters building. Which leads to the question of where the staffers are going to moved to. And more importantly, how many will actually be moved and how many fired?

Three in Newport, RI - city editor who had been there about 20 years, a copy editor that had assumed my duties (editorial assistant) when I was let go in February, and an employee with the magazine that's part of the chain there.

Five in Lakeland and three in St. Augustine -- as if smaller papers like that had any fat to cut. Also cuts at Daytona, including the SE.
These GateHouse people will burn in hell.

Hint: The number of people moving will be substantially less than the current number of people employed.

Here's a spreadsheet with the numbers at each paper. No names.

It’s incomplete. I know some people were laid off at The Oklahoman.
