I don't remember what I was watching but I remember a trailer coming across the screen saying Douglas had knocked Tyson out. No event, either sporting or straight news, has surprised me more.

Foreman winning a heavyweight championship at 45 surprised the hell out of me. He was on the tail end of his comeback and was able to take out a young solid guy like Moorer.

Douglas is a bigger upset by far but given Tyson's mental state and the fact that Douglas was big and strong at the time, it probably shouldn't have been as inconceivable as it was. But Foreman dropping a top guy with a one-two in his mid-40s, especially after losing at least 8 of the first 10 rounds. I absolutely did not see that.

Was putting out the sports section that night, and we were getting the round-by-round on the wire. It had an unreal feeling as it unfolded. The SE suggested around the fourth round that I start thinking about tearing up the section front. By the sixth round, he provided the same suggestion to the A1 guy.
