    GFY, junior. I read 500 page books regularly. That essay just rambled. I got better things to do than power through an essay that's not doing it for me. But here's your ribbon for finishing it and explaining why it was very well done...

    Yeah, it was probably too long. But I read every word and am glad the guy lived to write them.

    (As a former editor, these confessionals seem like hell to edit.)

    My son suffered a worse TBI than his. Reading that essay is like seeing that experience in a funhouse mirror.

    I started skimming too but stopped when he talked about getting injections of heparin. My wife went through that, injecting herself in the belly for months while trying to keep a pregnancy after multiple miscarriages. Was all good, we had our second child, but what a helluva time.
