Dairy Queen should do a promotion.

"DQs can be delicious! Derby fans, bring your losing Maximum Security ticket to any participating Dairy Queen this week and receive a free DQ milkshake."

The railbirds aren't the ones who TV advertisers court one to three times per year. It's the casual sports fan. USA Today, ESPN, etc. all day didn't talk about the fabulous run over Maximum Security. They talked about controversy in the Kentucky Derby.

Without the DQ, they wouldn’t have talked about the Derby all day anyway.

That's probably true. The DQ was even on the NBC Nightly News on Sunday night.

That's not a stretch -- the race was on NBC and they have a vested interest in keeping people interested for the Preakness. Did the DQ make the CBS or ABC evening news?

    Don't know. Didn't watch those.

That was my thought... wondering how many people tore up or threw away losing tickets that turned into 65-1 long shot winners.

Could you tape the pieces back together?

So we should change the rules of the game because more people are watching?

Anyone who knows how to bet races also knows not to throw losing tickets away for a while after a race.

Thoughts and prayers to the others.

The four dirtiest words in the English language are "Inquiry" followed by "Hold All Tickets."

And if Maximum Security's people do appeal and it's reversed.l, what happens?
