They had Strawberry until 1990 until Conforto broke the streak in 2017.

There were others in that time, but not home-grown.

Well, Kevin Mitchell was developed by the Mets, made an All-Star team or two with the Giants.

Cardinals smacking around Thor for five runs and one out in the third.

Matt Shoemaker, who had had a very good start with the Jays, out for the season with a torn ACL after being injured in a rundown Saturday.

At my old room in my parents house, there is still a Kevin Mitchell "Batman" poster on the wall, along with a obscenely wide 'Bo Knows" Nike poster.

There might be more people trying to get into Maple Leaf Square to watch the Leafs and Raptors games on TV than there will be up the street at Rogers Centre for the Jays-Giants game.

I'd be stunned if that wasn't the case. Frankly, if I was the Jays, I'd just put those games up on the big screen at Rogers and let the Jays and Giants do whatever the Jays and Giants do on the field.

Crowds at the dome have been abysmal this season and tonight would have been lousy anyway, with an intra-league opponent in town on a Tuesday night. Kevin Pillar couldn't fill the place when he played here, won't move the needle now that he is back. I'd be stunned if you could find the game on TV in any of the dozens of bars around the dome.

Heck, I'd rather be watching the game than this year's Giants.
