The President's efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests. Comey did not end the investigation of Flynn, which ultimately resulted in Flynn's prosecution and conviction for lying to the FBI. McGahn did not tell the Acting Attorney General that the Special Counsel must be removed, but was instead prepared to resign over the President's order. Lewandowski and Dearborn did not deliver the President's message to Sessions that he should confine the Russia investigation to future election meddling only. And McGahn refused to recede from recollections about events surrounding the President's direction to have the Special Counsel removed, despite the President's multiple demands that he do so.

Features of the report excerpted by the media, and these are just the parts not redacted by a corrupt Attorney General, could have been written by Jerry Nadler as a bill of impeachment with no problem.

The words "You do realize that this is just a deeper version of what I've been posting all along about Alma, right?" does not seem to indicate merely "we are in agreement." It seems to indicate "ahem, I said this first, quite often."

IMO, you tend to infer a great deal from everyone's else's postings while resisting pretty basic interpretations of your own.

Note that what we're looking at is the REDACTED version. Can you imagine what's in the unredacted text?

Just why can’t a sitting president be indicted or arrested? Is this codified into law, or is it just the way things work? I mean, presumably he’s a US citizen who has to follow the law, so what gives the president a get out of inditement card?

Dems need to run this in every single political ad, followed by “let’s end his presidency now.”

Imagine going on TV and telling lies you know (because you read the report) will be exposed as lies before lunchtime. An amazing display of the arrogance of power. Also the stupidity of power.

it's not stupid if they're justified in their arrogance

He's as likely as Trump to be impeached. Possibly more likely, since that would allow the Judiciary Committee to get all the same materials as from a Trump impeachment. But more importantly, why not take the time and trouble to mount at least a partially credible cover-up? One thing power should never do is look ridiculous, and he does now. Also, the lies will do him no good with his client, who will blame Barr for not simply refusing to release the report. This morning's gratitude could be dinnertime's rage.
