This is what Jonathan Bernstein calls the "clever fallacy." Trump really is stupid. If he were really a cunning tyrant-to-be, he'd be way more popular than he is now. He is kept afloat, barely, by the economy and the fact most Americans just don't want to believe they themselves are responsible for the governance of the country.

You can see that they want the legitimacy of being heard. They so badly crave it like their Caesar. I see it every night on timelines.
