A free society does not deign to stop all crime before it happens. A free society accepts the\at there is risk in freedom.

If you want total safety, a totalitarian regime is your best bet. You will not be a victim of crime under such conditions. You also will not enjoy the freedom you currently enjoy.

If you want to live freely, you have to accept a certain level of risk. That's just life, and has been so for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

In a free country you should have freedom from the government fucking you over for no reason other than they can. I am optomistic that with the unanimous Supreme Court decision on forfeiture and the increasing legalization of plants, we are moving in the right direction.
