When I was a budget conscious (poor) college student, I tried to skimp on stuff and go generic. To which, my Mom said, "Son, there's some things, that you just pay more for because they are better."
    - Tillamook Cheese
    - Kraft Mac & Cheese (vs. store brands)
    - Dove Bar Soap (vs. Irish Spring)
    - Old Spice Sweat Defense Deodorant
    - Nike guy, but as I am getting older, I am realizing Addias are way more comfortable on my feet
    - And as far as value brand clothes go, I like the GoodFellows line from Target

Honda. Been driving one since I was 16 and they have been great cars, all of them. I've had my Pilot since 2004 and it still rides great.

Nautica clothing. Just like the style and quality.

    Titleist golf hats
    Skinny Pop popcorn
    Kirkland Signature laundry detergent packets
And probably another dozen or so things from Costco

About the only product I am loyal to are Levi's .

Very much a creature of habit at certain restaurants, only order the same thing.

pretty sure you could subsist on only Kirkland products if you really needed to.

    Especially if you're an alcoholic.

Man, I don't know how they sell booze that good for that cheap, but they do.

I really wish Costco was around in my area when I was in college. I would've saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

Feeling nostalgic, I recently bought a pair of 501 button fly Levis. Not a great idea for someone in his late 50s who has to pee frequently.

Biggest wine seller in the country and gotta be close in booze, too.

I just effing love Costco. I'd love to spend a couple weeks with their buyers, watching how they decide what goes on the shelves and what doesn't. Because Costco really doesn't sell that much stuff in terms of SKUs, but they almost never whiff with what they do.

I got some button fly jeans once by mistake. Hated them for that reason.

Of course, at the time I was a 4-liter-a-day Diet Pepsi drinker.

Dig that. When I wore dress shirts regularly, that's what I wore. Not really that much more expensive than most if you got them at their sales and they held up AND were true to size. Every time. One grand's 17 by 35 should fit the same as another, right?

I have BB shirts that are maybe 15 years old and they still look and wear as good as new.
