Virtue signaling? Only heard this term for the first time today. Is this just a longer, hipper term for sanctimonious?

I thought the exact same thing! I stared at it for a while, trying to figure out what the fuck it means. I failed.

Anyway, I thought the ad's execution was terrible. Parts of it looked like stock footage, parts of it looked like a SNL skit, parts of it looked pretty high-end...but overall the video was just a jumbled mess.

If "don't be a prick" is "sanctimonious," then yes.

That seems like a great way to clog a toilet.

If you’re a male and you’re triggered by that commercial, you’re not a man.

The ad was fine. The razor blades could be cheaper.

I found nothing wrong with the commercial; I commend its sentiment. I was just confused by this term virtue signaling. Seems like code for whatever the other side does that pisses you off

Nah. It's a term used by right-wing dudebros to make fun of liberal cucks. Only, they use it to describe anything now, so it's lost all meaning.

People are legit upset by this ad?

God, we're so fucked as a planet.

"Dem libtards at Gillette telling me to stop being a man! I'll show them. Imma flush my 9-blade razor I spent $20 for at CVS down the toilet, clog the toilet and then call a plumber to come fix it!!!"

The most common use of the term I heard in the 2016 election was evangelical Christians sitting out the election because neither candidate was good enough for them.
