Why is he wearing a Tom Wolfe hat? That’s what I want to know.

So he's a real estate investor who self-publishes books on "success" and baseball coaching? Well goddamn, I'll have to give his political views much more weight now.

Ok. Point taken. Going forward I'll stick to people like Thomas Sowell, Ben Sapiro, Rush Limbaugh and other pseudo intellectuals who have name recognition.

Trump Twitter was particularly stupid tonight. Can someone just tell him he won so we can move on?

Because everyone has a Facebook and twitter account. And everyone has an opinion. Why ones opinion matters is due to their experience and intellectual capacity, their place in the story.
Reed just seems to be a guy with an opinion and the time to express it. He’s a relative nobody.

So what would be a good threshold for significance?

    Reed is a wing-nut. Don't follow wing-nuts.

Someone who would get an op-Ed printed in non-state run media without paying for the space. Someone who is an expert in a field in which they are giving their point of view but is not directly benefiting from having their viewpoint quoted. That’s a start

The super-right seems to be of two minds when it comes to Israel. Are they everything that's right or wrong with the Middle East?

Someone who gets paid for what they write, someone who doesn't use their expertise or celebrity in one area and assume they are an authority on something they have no experience with. See George Will on baseball or Hank Williams Jr., Rosie O'Donnell or Pat Boone on politics. Someone whose views aren't considered "news" because of their name recognition, or their vitriol - but because of the quality of their argument.

So name recognition matters more than quality of argument?
