The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is seeking a talented and dedicated editor to help lead its award-winning sports department in the City of Champions.

The sports editor is the No. 2 position in the department and assists in guiding a staff of nearly 30 reporters, columnists, designers and editors, a group that has earned APSE Triple Crown honors each of the past two years.

Ideal candidates should be adept at managing and coaching writers, planning and developing stories on multiple platforms and communicating across departments to ensure accuracy and excellence. A desire to maintain past success while discovering new avenues to grow and innovate in an ever-changing industry is a must.

Those interested should send a resume, cover letter and three professional references to Assistant Managing Editor/Sports Tyler Batiste at tbatiste@post-gazette.com

I know folks in Pittsburgh have been a little busy lately, so there's that.

I'll wager they decided not to fill the job.

Considering that shortly after that opening was posted they went down to publishing five days a week, I doubt it was filled externally.
