This is not going to end well at all.

This forum is very confusing to me. All I was doing was introducing myself on an anything goes page, and I got some feedback I was not expecting. Then I got some valuable advice, followed by some really odd questions that have nothing to do with anything. If they're inside jokes I get it, but you can't expect someone who knows nothing about it to just let it go.

The last question was a joke, from a movie from before you were born called Airplane!

    Here for you, buddy.

5 quick questions and then I am done.

What is your month and year of birth?
How do you feel about the DH?
Did you eat fish for dinner?
    Do you smoke heroin?
How many toes do you have?

At this point I'm not sure if I should be answering these questions, but:

    March 1995
    Pitchers should hit in AL
    Nope, haven't eaten dinner yet
    Don't smoke heroin
    Umm 10

You were born during my freshman year of college.

Oh, and I can’t give you much advice other than this: The title may be “sports writer, but don’t pay attention to that.

    Report. Don’t write.

Great advice from MisterCreosote. Writing is part of the reporting process but there's nothing to write without excellent reporting.

Also, I haven't eaten dinner yet - not I haven't ate dinner yet.

Let's ease up on the "inside jokes" on threads like these when someone is actually looking for help in the business. We're not 10 percent as funny as we think we are and someone who is not on the inside must think we're assholes or stupid. Or both.

    Carry on

Agreed on the reporting. There is such a thing as over-writing. There is no such thing as over-reporting.

What does the number 6 mean to you?

And have you ever been to Tahoe?
