Good to see some love for Roxy Music as nominees at least. I have given up hoping to see Little Feat and Warren Zevon get in.

We can finally dispense with Radiohead not getting in.

It seems like it's the eternal question with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: What exactly is rock & roll and what isn't?

I'd put John Prine ahead of nearly everyone else on that list, but I can also see an argument his music isn't rock & roll.

    I denounce this.
    1 arm Def > 2 am Def

Hysteria, Love Bites, PSSOM.......there are some kick ass songs on those CD's from 89 on.

“Progenitor” may be the wrong word, but Def Leppard was the reason 80s hard rock existed in the first place.

High 'n’ Dry and Pyromania get their share of criticism as being too radio-friendly, but they did more to launch hard rock and hair metal as a mainstream music format than any prior or subsequent works (despite the massive production screw-up on Pyromania) while Hysteria cemented Def Leppard’s legacy. Every white person under the age of 30 owned at least two of those albums in the 1980s. Def Leppard, Michael Jackson, ZZ Top and Duran Duran were MTV’s raison d’être for years, and most of the videos Rikki Rachtman queued up on “Headbangers Ball” owed a lot to the video for “Photograph.”
