    Years ago, I was in Seattle right around the time of the solstice. You could still see fragments of sunlight on the horizon well after 10.

    That's a good look at the some of the battles among far-left politicians — the polar opposite of where I live, where it's a battle to see who can be the most conservative, and Chamber-of-Commerce types are dismissed as "RINOs."

    For all the political posturing and heated rhetoric, though, this problem still remains for Seattle:

    The uneasy coexistence of a booming economy and rapidly vanishing affordable housing is a tough problem to solve, as the three cities discussed in this thread illustrate.
