Does anyone have any contacts for any editors at The Athletic? I’m hoping to get some good clips and am looking for at least three editors to pitch to

In those perfunctory, "Why I joined the Athletic" pieces, why don't they ever just say, "They offered me a 30 percent pay increase over what I was earning"?

I was on the east coast and picked up a copy of the Sun last May. The Sun gave front page coverage to John Hopkins and the University of Maryland teams that were playing in the NCAA tournament. I wondered how much traffic those stories actually drew.

In Baltimore, in May, probably a significant amount. The Athletic got Patrick Stevens to cover the Terps, and he can certainly offer college lax coverage in the spring if they want.

Already loving The Athletic but surprised there’s no DC bureau yet!

Would The Athletic ever create a site that rivals ESPNW or The Undefeated?

Would people pay to read either one?

When is an enterprising reporter or outlet going to dig in to what the Athletic’s subscription numbers are? Or do we all just have to keep taking their word that everything is just going swell and that people are just lining up by the multitudes to hand over money to read daily coverage of MLS soccer or long word salads by people like Jeff Pearlman about his childhood and...?
