    The Oklahoman Media Company is seeking a strong storyteller and passionate journalist to cover college athletics for our award-winning sports section and website: NewsOK.com. Our next Oklahoma State beat writer will engage readers across all platforms by:

    • Breaking news on one of the nation’s premier athletic departments and a football program that wins and contends for Big 12 and national titles;
    • Writing memorable features, enterprise, project and game stories;
    • Making our blogs must-reads throughout the day;
    • Building deep relationships with sources and readers using social media and old-fashioned tools like conversation;
    • Contributing to and collaborating with a team of journalists to serve a readership captivated by sports and how we cover it;
    The writer’s primary responsibility will be in covering the University of Oklahoma’s men’s basketball and football teams with secondary responsibilities including OU’s national-championship winning softball and gymnastics teams.

    If you are committed to all this and helping us get better, please apply directly at www.theomc.com/careers. Please send a cover letter, writing samples and examples of your best digital work when you apply online.

    Wow, this is a serious big boy (or big girl) job. I know where I’ll be sending my resume! Does anyone have any direct contact info for the sports editor(s) involved in the hiring process?

    As the ad mentions "a football program that wins and contends for Big 12 and national titles", odds are the job focuses on Norman rather than Stillwater.

    Assume it’s OU. Brooke Pryor is leaving to cover the Chiefs for the KC Star.

    Great find! Thanks for sharing. Do you know who on that directory would be the best people to talk to about this job?

    Call the desk and ask for Peaches (I think there might be one or two other posters who get this).
