Hey kids, I'm Pete Rose, and the court has ordered me to teach you an important lesson today: Don't post on SJ.com while totally blazed. All right? All right. Now let's play ball!

In Russia's defense, the only non-friendlies they've played since the 2014 World Cup have been European Championship qualifiers, the Euros themselves, and last year's Confederations Cup. Friendlies only earn teams a fraction of the FIFA ranking points they get from official matches, so it makes sense their ranking would suffer in the run-up to hosting a tournament. They were 24th in 2015 before the slide began.

What happens first a Spanish goal or Iran getting carded for diving?

Well yeah the slide began because they pretty much sucked in the 16 European Championships, a tie against England and then losses to Wales and Slovakia,
who didn't qualify for the WC. BTE said no one gave them a chance to get a point. No idea who said that. Definitely thought they'd beat Saudi Arabia. Thought Egypt
would win, or at least tie. Not seeing how beating those two teams is such a shocker though, or that it means Russia is a good team.

Speaking of Wales, if Jon Hammond is still around here, he called it out in '16. Wales wouldn't
    make the WC. Good call.

    Puto?

Edit: I thought the term meant something less vulgar, more profane (like fucker or the like) looking it up it means gay whore in Mexico.
