I could see the spirit of the rule being something that deals with a player hitting a shot off of a slope and the ball moves during the swing. For the average joe who takes the 8 and walks away, this is an odd situation.

I doubt Phil tries this if he is 5 shots off the lead and not a dozen.

Pin placement, wind and now much they water the greens are huge factors.

    Wind also dries greens.

The weather forecast was for the same high winds and they haven't yet arrived. So the USGA wasn't looking for low scores, just not 75-plus scores.

Why am I rooting for Tommy Fleetwood to win while having a cocktail in the clubhouse?

Still, Koepka is holding on for now.

For me it’s because of my dislike Patrick Reed and Johnson. Really no opinion on Koepka one way or another.

Kopeka hasn't made a bad putt on the last six holes. That's how it's done.

Some joker on wiki changed Koepka’s page to him triple bogeying 18.

Then he hits a duck hook.

It's funny - for all the acclaim for the Rorys, Rickys, Dustins and Jordans, there are golfers out there like Koepka who seem to generate zero interest. Don't know if it's been shown that they don't move merchandise or what.
Of course if Koepka follows the typical career path - he'll cash in now on endorsements, spend a lot of time flying around the world for corporate gigs and course openings, break up with a girlfriend and his career will stall.

Koepka generates zero interest because outside of the last two U.S. Opens, he has won next to nothing.

    Comapre:

Koepka: 2 majors, 3 PGA wins
Rory: 4 majors, 14 PGA wins
    D.J. : 1 major, 18 PGA wins
Spieth: 3 majors, 11 PGA wins

Except those back to back US Open titles...

That places him on a short, short list with Jones, Hogan and Strange as players who have successfully defended the Open since 1914.

You could type for 20 minutes listing all the greats who could not defend the US Open title.

He's going to get his credit and recognition.

Every time I see "Koepka," I have to look up his first name.
