    Episode Three: When Fools Russian

On a daily, sometimes hourly, basis Donald J. Trump would take to Twitter to rage against his many multiplying enemies. His top target the probe being conducted by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. For many, these tweets were a transparent attempt to undermine the investigation. Privately, House and Senate Republicans had long questioned the president's fitness for office. They kept quiet though for fear of upsetting their base, a base Trump had complete hold on even as his grip on reality weakened.

The biggest tragedy of the Trump Presidency will be the generation(s) who think this is normal for a President.
I know the answer, but I'm amazed at the people who would mask their opposition to Obama with a universal cynicism about politics, then picking up a pom pon for Trump.

There are politicians who don't lie?

The big difference is whether the lies are lies or half-truths to avoid heat or scandal, or great big whoppers to attempt to hide endemic corruption.
The big difference is whether the lies are occasional or happen many times every week, sometimes blatantly.

If your employer changed insurance plans and the one you liked was no longer available, you couldn't keep it. If you had one you liked and changed to the ACA to save money, and your current insurer did not offer insurance under the ACA, you couldn't keep it. Neither of those was Obama's fault.

All that sets aside that the Republicans in Congress did everything they could think of to fuck up Obamacare, to drive customers and insurers away from it, and that wasn't Obama's fault either. It was because fuck a Moslem Neegro Democratic President.

Nah. Obama didn’t lie ... the dishonesty, to the degree that it was such, was the “I got this” charade.

But if the Republicans in Congress were obligated to further the ACA, then that means the Democrats in Congress are obligated to further ... pick whatever. And they’re not.

All pols shade the truth, but it's usually on facts or issues of some importance to them and presumably voters. Trump tells whoppers that have no rhyme nor reason. Why deny a White House official gave a briefing to the press, a lie that could be and was easily contradicted and proven false within an hour or so. It's the sort of thing that somehow disturbs me more than the Trump policies I loathe, because the only explanation for it that makes sense is that the boy just ain't right.

That point’s not even in contention, is it?
