    I've been to Detroit for a weekend. Plenty to do when the Indians are playing.

    I don't think that's weird. I wouldn't spend a week in Detroit or Cleveland, but there's enough to do in almost any city to occupy a couple of days.

    Fuck, my dream vacation is the Arctic: the town formerly known as Barrow, Tuktayuktuk, Alert, northwest Greenland, wherever. I'm not about to tease anyone about road tripping in the Rust Belt.

    I fully plan on the Charles Kuralt/Ernie Pyle retirement of talking to weirdos in tiny diners in the middle of nowhere on weekdays. I haven't told my wife yet. I feel like I should spring it on here when I'm 65 so she doesn't divorce me now.

    One of my goals is to run in the Antarctica Marathon. Maybe for my 45th birthday, if I can cobble together 10 grand by then.
