Heavy, a leading national news and information website, is seeking an ambitious, enterprising freelance contributor to cover sports betting.

We're looking for a sports junkie with deep knowledge of the landscape and an understanding of the way the industry is likely to change as legalized sports betting becomes far more widespread in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be capable of producing copy that avid sports bettors find valuable while also distilling information to make it digestible for people who are only beginning to get acclimated with the subject matter. In many cases, the audience for this content will be composed of people who are intrigued by sports betting but have never cast a bet.

Work remotely. Room to grow for exceptional performers. To apply, send a resume, cover letter, and three writing samples to Managing Editor Ben Doody at ben@heavy.com, with "sports betting writer" in the subject line.
