What did I do wrong here?

You did nothing wrong, but in his mind you did, so let him vent and don't engage.

We need a universal "I'm sorry" signal for drivers.

We've all accidentally cut someone off or committed another traffic sin where the other driver gets upset and there is no real way to apologize. When I'm the wronged driver, I'll drop some salty language inside my car, but I would never chase the person down. The worst I'll do is give the stink eye as I pass.

FWIW, today, when I was driving to a game, I was looking for the field and I slowed down a bit. The guy behind me honked. I didn't react. Would have been nice if he cut me a little slack, but I let it go. On the way back from the game, I stopped to let another car out of a sidestreet. The guy behind me didn't like it and he honked. I let it go.

Maybe I was just having a bad day yesterday.
Believe it or not, if I do something wrong and I know it, I will own up to it and say I'm sorry.

Am I the only one who thought of the "Men of a Certain Age" episode where someone cuts Terry off, and he's so angry about it that he tracks the guy down and goes up and rings the doorbell. Guy comes to the door and Terry angrily recounts how he cut him off. Guy says he didn't realize it, sorry. And Terry's left just standing there awkwardly.

That was such a great show. Wish its run hadn't been so short.

I thought of the Married With Children episode where Steve punched out the midget who drove a car with an "I heart San Quentin" bumper sticker.
The guy just came over to apologize, but Steve punched him out. "When challenge challenged me, I challenged challenge."
Steve asked why he was in San Quentin.
"I torched a Mercedes. They say I'm almost cured. By the way, you've got a nice one."

1 at-fault accident in 25 years. Yeah. I really suck.

You're being honked at more in a month than I am in a decade.
