Michelson: Measured the speed of light.
Mickelson: Gambles at the speed of light. Plays a little golf, too.

He's been off all year. Putting has been off, lately his irons. Gotten off to slow starts that buried him in some events. MC at Innesbrook where he won a couple of years ago. He *should* contend at Augusta but it doesn't feel like his game is in the right place for it right now.

  3. Justin Thomas (2 seed) only top 10 seeed t make it to the weekend.

Kevin Kisner just beat Ian Poulter 8 & 6.

Hope he can do that on Ryder Cup Sunday.

This was just after Poulter smoked his opponent in the morning round.

I believe that keeps Poulter off Magnolia Lane in 10 days.

He could get in if he wins Houston. Big if.

  9. I like Kisner. Dude has the game to win a big event, if he can hold it together.

Another problem with Match Play, is the lack of players to watch. Yesterday's afternoon matches were snoozers. Very few good to great shots, just a lot of garbage from Poulter and Aphibarnrat (who???) ... It would be awesome to get a Mickelson-Stenson Open duel, but that seldom happens and there's nothing to fall back on at Match Play events because you only have four or eight guys in play on the weekend.

There are just as many dull medal play events. I covered the 2002 Masters, which will go down in history as the most boring of Tiger Woods' major victories. The US Open last year was hardly scintillating in competitive terms.

Kisner and Noren have just halved four straight holes with birdies. That's not dull.

  12. Kisnser can't play any worse.
Bubba, up 6 at the turn.
