The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and its community newspapers group is seeking a reporter to help cover suburban high school sports in the Greater Milwaukee area.

This reporter would be responsible for writing stories and creating other multimedia content for eight weekly newspapers and their digital platforms.

    The ideal candidate would:

    * Be adept at finding unique story angles and experimenting with new storytelling styles.

    * Work hard to develop sources and know the communities he or she covers.

    * Know how to use social media to help build audience and engagement.

    * Possess well-rounded digital skills, including familiarity with shooting and producing video, podcasting, SEO and content management systems.

While this reporter's work would primarily be for the Journal Sentinel's suburban NOW publications, much of it would have the opportunity to gain a larger audience via the Journal Sentinel's flagship platform, JSOnline.com, and some could even make its way to parent company USA Today.

To apply for the job, please email a cover letter and resume, along with samples of your work, to Mike Davis, Journal Sentinel Deputy Managing Editor for Sports, atmike.davis@jrn.com.
