Olbermann doesn’t seem to be the easiest person to get along with over the long term. And I generally like his takes on politics and baseball.

 

Still calling bullshit on the "demanded to see everyone's papers" stuff. There are only two ways non-immigrants such as myself can prove citizenship---birth certificate or passport---and I carry neither, and neither do most people. I could show them a driver's license, but that would prove nothing.

That's true.

But the original tweet that started the firestorm stated: "Border Patrol got on a Greyhound bus yesterday at 4:30pm in Fort Lauderdale and asked every passenger for their papers and to prove citizenship. Proof of citizenship is NOT required to ride a bus!"

The larger point is that this incident is being cited as an example of "Trump's America," when it's really just another day in South Florida.
