I’ve thought to myself, “ok, I’ll watch the Honest Trailer for Back to the Future,” then an hour later I have no idea how many I’ve watched.

Woodworking videos on YouTube ... despite never having worked with wood or really having ever thought of doing so. May be kind of an ASMR thing.

The way Wikipedia links, most of my wormholes begin there and just expand exponentially.

That, and vintage music video links on YouTube.

Yep. I'll go looking for one guy, which will lead me to five other guys, then the teams, then the all-time lists, etc., etc. Racing-reference, too.

Didn't ESPN make a play to buy all those websites many years ago? Hard to believe they've never been monetized.

The creator was a doctoral student in mathematics who began the site in the early 2000s era as a hobby.
The server crashed after an early mention by a SI writer.
I'd love to know how many uniques any of the sister sites gets in a month.

I get the same way with Cinema Sins. I think I spent two hours one night watching a bunch of them back to back.

I came across a YouTube video of opening credits of some really bad and forgotten '70s shows. Judging by the songs, most of the audience probably never made through the credits. Absolutely terrible, John Denverish, soft and whimpy lyrics and melodies - I won't even link to it because it reminded me of a promotion video for a hospice service. Vince VanPatten was in a lot of forgettable shows. Helen Hunt as well.
