Seems some folks there aren't real happy with the publisher - anyone have more insight?

    Folks are feeling empowered.

The NLRB will be announcing the union election result today. They're counting votes now.

Sounds like Randy Michaels has taken his show west.

The saddest part? Only 389 eligible voters left at the LAT:

I think my former place peaked at 369 sometime in the late 90s.

(And we still had more day-to-day sports space than the LAT!)

I'm damn proud of my pals at LAT these days, with this and the unionizing, but it's also a dreadful time to be there. One of the great papers, still with a ton of talented, decent people, has really had it tough lately.

Is that a big cue ball lined up behind his head?

How much does a cue ball that size cost?

I promise you one thing -- you would never scratch with that.

How many of those jobs can be moved to another Tronc paper as part of a central design hub? And how many regular staffers can be replaced with free lancers? I understand why the employees voted to unionize but I think it might be counterproductive.
