Rivers is 1-7 all-time against the Pats and has never beaten Brady. His only win against them was in 2008, the year Brady tore his ACL.
Rivers and the Chargers owned Manning and the Colts (5-1 against them during the Rivers/Manning era, including two playoff wins), not the Pats.

I know some people like that matchup as one that can give the Patriots trouble because the Chargers' offense has looked great recently and they have the pass rushers to get to Brady, but like a lot of teams, the history against the Patriots is unkind. That includes the playoff game they pissed away against the Patriots in 2007.

Unless you are the Broncos, history is unkind to every NFL team when it comes to Brady and the Patriots.

Gotta throw Miami in Miami into that picture. Monday night was a trend game for the Pats down there, not an exception.

  9. The Pats have lost 4 straight in Miami going back to 2013. That's great, but the Dolphins are little more than a thorn to them. Three playoff appearances in the Brady era, one division title, and one and done each time in the playoffs.

Pats are 68-19 against their division with Brady.

I wasn't saying it meant the Dolphins were good. It's just a very interesting trend or jinx or what have you. And it goes longer than 2013. The Pats with Brady at QB are 7-9 overall, going back to a loss in his first game there in 2001.

Didn't you just have them winning the super bowl unchallenged last week?

I believe they will win the Super Bowl. That's what makes it so interesting. History's longest-lived dynastic power constantly stubs its toe in road games against a franchise that's been real mediocre for a real long time.
