Even with those extra five or 10 minutes, he wouldn't have time to properly explore the entire document. Or to ask questions about the hand-written notes on it. Even you should know this is wrong, but you can't see past party to offer a valid opinion.

Does it look like Sarah Huckabee has gained weight since becoming press secretary? I'm just curious because I'm wondering about stress.

So it's the wee hours on the East Coast. Here's what I don't get. If you have the votes to pass it, why not just wait until, you know, normal morning hours? Is the GOP that ashamed of it that they need to rush it through?

Allowed to plead? You do understand that pleading guilty to more federal crimes is NOT a desirable outcome, right? This is classic prosecution of conspiracy, where there may or may not be documentary evidence of a crime. They start on the margins with the small fish, catch them out and squeeze them to make them roll over. Since you want a maximally cooperative witness, you offer them a choice - spill your guts and tell all you know and we'll go light on you, but if we catch you lying or leaving stuff out we'll hammer your balls. You get eyewitness testimony, and then you confirm and enlarge on it by using what you know to test and confirm the story of each succeeding witness.

You have only as much knowledge of what Mueller is doing as he is willing to allow the public to know at this point. We keep explaining this to you and you keep pretending that you just can't understand how there could be anything else if no one talks about it. The White House does not want to tell anyone anything, because they're guilty as hell. That's why they continually lie. Mueller is refusing to tip his hand, and continues to hit them unexpectedly because they don't know what he has. As a result, Team Trump has no idea what may happen next, who already might have made a deal that has not been disclosed, who may have already testified, who might be wearing a wire. It puts tons of pressure on them to tell the truth when interviewed, because for all you know five other people may have already answered the question you are being asked, and if you lie it is a perjury in a federal case.

Quit playing ignorant, YF. You're pretty bright and perceptive when you choose to be, but something like this comes up and all of a sudden you're dumb as a stump.

Meanwhile, more fun with Trump. It's like he's speaking in tongues or something.

I'm biased, but, uh, yeah. Just reading through this thread, it's an epic flustercluck, much like the GOP's efforts at repeal and replace. Our only hope may be enough Senators stand up to this like they did on the health bill.

Charge negotiation is the most significant part of working out a plea agreement.

Orrin Hatch with an incredibly prescient tax bill amendment for all of America:

#1684 – Prohibit cash or gift cards as employee achievement awards

I'd say it isn't a coincidence that most of the more contentious bills get voted on late into the night, particularly before a recess. The time crunch adds pressure, the lack of live news viewers and talk radio listeners, people are on to other things and figure they'll fight it later.
This isn't a terrible outcome for the Dems. They can run against it similar to how the GOP ran against Obamacare, maybe air some ads of a "grinch" breaking into people's houses and taking benefits like Social Security, Medicare and CHiP away.
The big problem for the Dems is that a lot of the tax savings by the wealthy will be funneled back into GOP campaigns.

The Senate will pass it. A 500-page bill that drastically alters the United States. That was handed out by lobbyists a few hours ago. That has unreadable scribbles in the margins.

A transparent giveaway to the ultra-rich. And FU to the middle and lower class.

Gonna pass. In the middle of the night. Like the thieves they are.

Dems asked till MONDAY to read the fucking thing. Nope.

In it’s current form, lots of Trump voters are getting fucked over. People in NY, Connecticut, Jersy and Cali are getting fucked over too.

    Fuck all these people.
