For all the wrangling and circus it was Mullen to Florida and Frost (likely) to Nebraska like it was supposed to be.

Also confirmed: Background checks aren't a priority in Knoxville.

At least three people need to be fired at Tennessee for that clusterfuck.

I'm giddy at the image of Currie being in a room full of boosters and getting his ass chewed inside and out right now.

Regardless of the histrionics (and Clay Travis starting shit up on social media -- publishing an AD's phone number and address is bush-league), Tennessee is fucked for the next few years (hell, probably the next two recruiting classes).

    An utter disaster.

Tennessee and Nebraska are two peas in a pod: they think they are still powerhouse programs. They are nowhere close to those identities today.

Hell, Alabama went through those periods (DuBose, Price) before Saban arrived. The late Mal Moore hired Saban, and Moore knew that he got it right.

Nebraska and Tennessee hasn't gotten it right the last few times. Nebraska could change all of that with Bill Moos now as AD. Moos swoops in September, assesses the state of the program, and pulled the trigger. That presser he held on Saturday, after firing Riley, was a clinic in "this is how you do your job without "AD-speak"." Moos, from my view, knows what he wants to do. And it was refreshing not to have any of the Nebraska chancellors near that podium.

Outside of the fan bases, one could assume that the administrations of both schools have no clue how to, ahem, temper their expectations as it relates to their programs. Especially when it comes to athletic directors. Mike Hamilton left a mess. I don't know much about Dave Hart and John Currie is swimming in it, and he's only been there less than a calendar year.

And Currie is the guy who had to deal with Frank Martin and had to settle for Bruce Weber, when no one wanted to take the K-State gig.

Steve Pedersen and Shawn Eichorst were disasters as Nebraska's AD. Many wished that Osborne would have remained as AD (and probably coach).

Schools need to find ADs who can adapt and handle the zoo. Luckily, Nebraska may have a chance. Tennessee not so much.

Ok, let me get this straight. Tennessee is refusing to hire a football coach because he might have known about a child molester, and Alabama is close to electing one to the Senate?

There can't be any fan base in any sport that has ever pined for a coach as hard and for as long as UT fans have for Gruden, WTF is that about, why are they so convinced this guy who's not coached anywhere in a decade--and clearly does not want to coach--is their savior?

Imagine the fun if they finally land him and it turns out he sucks even more than Butch, Lane and Dooley.
