    Berkeley is rocking this week.

UC Berkeley professors urge campus boycott during ‘Free Speech Week’

Therefore, as faculty committed to the safety of our students and our campus, we are calling for a complete boycott of all classes and campus activities while these Alt-Right events are taking place at the very center of UC Berkeley’s campus. As faculty we cannot ask students and staff to choose between risking their physical and mental safety in order to attend class or come to work in an environment of harassment, intimidation, violence, and militarized policing. The reality is that particularly vulnerable populations (DACA students, non-white, gender queer, Muslims, disabled, feminists, and others) have already been harmed, and are reporting increased levels of fear and anxiety about the upcoming events, the increased police presence on our campus, and how all this will impact their lives and their studies.

However, it could turn out to be much ado about nothing. (That's from Shakespeare, who of course is no Sister Souljah.) The organizing group has not followed through with paperwork to reserve the venues, has not confirmed the speakers, and has not paid the bills.

Don't be fooled. They're just letting everybody get hype before the big USC game Saturday in Strawberry Canyon.

These are the remnants and children of the same people that said, "Let the Nazi's march in Skokie, Illinois. The old Jewish Holocaust survivors can handle it."

My favorite part of that article is the little tab that allows you to buy a neck-up file photo of Lipscomb University President L. Randolph Lowry.

Even in 1950s North Carolina, people were pretty unambiguous about armed civilians busting up a Klan rally being a Good Thing. I guess in our more enlightened age people would be taking their side to show how truly committed to equality they are.

I will say having an outreach dinner for black students where you prominently serve collards, cornbread and mac & cheese one night after serving tacos at the outreach dinner for Latino students is an impressive achievement in the Tone Deaf Olympics.

Shit's gettin' real at Cornell. There's a Presidential Task Force!

Racially Charged Incidents Shake Cornell Campus

The incidents were: 1) a black student arrived home to find an argument with his housemates in his driveway; one of the unwelcome visitors dropped an N-bomb, and when he confronted them, the group started punching him; 2) a student outside the Latino Living Center chanted about "building a wall." There's talk on campus that the fight at least was related to a suspended fraternity whose members are desperately trying to stay active.

The Black Student Union has declared a "state of emergency."

The White Student Union immediately invoked the mutual aid and defense pact with the Pan Asian and Pacific Islander Student Union.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Polygamous/polyamorous Student Union declared their synovial hinge joint jerk support with the Black Student Union with the exception of the Gays who are currently caucusing with the Latino Men's Collective (LMC) aka Somos Comunidad at Raphael's loft in the Latino Student Center and couldn't be reached for comment (though loud noises were heard). The LGBTQIAPK (less the G) will not commit to physical activities without written consent from all parties, in advance, for each action planned.

The Cornell Mute Deaf and Blind Student Union, The Helen Keller Society, has not been able to meet, ever. And is currently unavailable to comment.

The Society of Arab Student (SAS) have declared Jihad on the Kuumba Singers, the South Slavic Society and the Armenian Student Association. The Turkish Student Union and Pakistani Student Alliance recognize the legitimacy of the SAS Jihad, though they decline to provide anything more than arms and Halaal snacks.

The Hillel House has received declarations of War from the following groups:
