The Dodgers are 40-15 since the day he was called up, from 10-11 to 50-26.

    They're in 1st now by 2.5 over Goldy's Diamondbacks.

Those are team accomplishments. If things continue as they are now, both are on playoff teams.

Goldschmidt is hitting for a much higher average and walking a lot more. His counting stats are better and that does mater. He has played more and that is a factor in Goldschmidt's favor. This could easily change in the second half, especially if Bellinger keeps up his ridiculous home run pace, but right now Goldschmidt has a better case.

You could also argue for Ryan Zimmerman, though I'm guessing Goldschmidt and Bellinger will both end up with better numbers.

A National won't win it unless one of them goes on an absolute tear -- otherwise Harper, Zimmerman, Murphy and potentially Rendon are going to split votes.

Perhaps, but Zimmerman's numbers are ridiculous. He has been the best player on that team during the first half, though that could easily change.

Replace a few names, and you've just described the Giants, currently on a pace to lose 108 games.

Baseball players do not typically split votes like that. Individual value is too much easier to isolate.

Damian Miller as well. Remember writing about this when he played for the Diamondbacks back in the 90s. Also noteworthy that he wasn't in the MLB video games because he wasn't part of the PA.

I believe Jonah Keri's excellent book on the history of the Expos that F.P. Santangelo walked out of camp rather than be a replacement player, saying that is not how he wanted to remember his big league debut

Should be remembered for marrying a Playboy Playmate 20 years younger than him.
