Said this on the other thread... but the LaVar interview was fantastic.

    It's OK to have fun.

There are more bow ties at this draft than at a Fruit of Islam meeting.

If someone is watching the NBA draft, they want to hear Ball.

The NBA off-season reminds me of that movie gag when someone asks for a volunteer to step forward and everyone but one guy, takes a step back. And people complain about players sitting out a game here or there. There are franchises that have been sitting out seasons for years.

Can someone explain to only a casual NBA fan what the hell is it about drafting a guy then having a "proposed trade?" And the Magic just drafted two guys and traded them both for draft picks as far in advance as 2020. Huh?

The proposed trade thing basically just means the paperwork hasn't cleared yet.

So for example, why did Charlotte bother to take Frank Jackson, trade him, then take Dwayne Bacon nine spots lower? If you loved Bacon that much, take him.
Or why Orlando draft three guys and trade two?

I would assume whoever wanted Frank Jackson initiated the trade and wasn't sure he would be there nine spots later.

Well, let's see, if they just take Bacon, then they only get Bacon. This way gets them Bacon plus more (I believe cash in this case). That's a better deal, isn't it?

As for why the other guy made the offer, I'm sure it's because they wanted Jackson and realized he wouldn't still be around for their pick.

Not sure why this confuses you. The incentives for both teams to make that deal are quite clear.

Lonzo Ball is a good step in the right direction, but Russell was gonna be good. He's a two guard with a PG vision in transition. Keep him and 1-4 positions can run the ball down the court.

    Anyone watching 3 on 3?

Entertaining. But why not 'winners out' ?
