You know, I want this guy to get this job now. I mean, posting to a message board listing thinking it is the actual place to apply for the job and then getting the job would be the premise for a great Netflix series. Let's see it happen in real life!

Who is going to tell Justin that a message board is not how you apply for a job?

You dirty rotten... I was just about to pitch this to my agent as a TV series... lol

There is some hiring manager out there who will have two resumes. A 25-year vet and his... and he'll say "A message board! That takes balls! I think I'll hire him!"

At a friend's apartment: "When the phone rings, you have to pick up and say Vandelay Industries..."

That guy who posted his application on this board was hired by ESPN...

I don't know Justin, the guy who posted his video on here, but I can confirm what Iceberg Simpson said: this guy actually did get hired recently by ESPN for a production assistant position. Yes, it's entry level, but I think it's also instructive of how it helps to think outside the box when applying for jobs.

Gone are the days of sending resumes in blindly to HR. Yes, networking still helps tremendously and should be a key part of any job search. But a guy who is willing to post video content on an anonymous sports message board is a guy who is willing to think outside the box a bit.
