I remember "ask drunk Chef" threads. Back when we had a better class of losers around here. @Moderator1 'd swing through about 3 a.m., and clean up the beer bottles, and that was it.

I took a shot at one of those myself once ... did a music countdown while pouring down a six-pack*, after working a desk shift. Pacific Time, so by the time I was done the East Coasters were checking in bright and early.

    * Even more of a lightweight these days.

    That was great.

I want to say something that maybe should be on the politics thread, but it would just get buried over there.

Say what you want about our current situation in DC, but one thing I've noticed is that more people are talking about issues, AND getting off their asses and Internet and becoming more activist.

In the long haul, I think that's a great thing for the country.

I also notice more people telling them to sit back down, or saying that activists should get a job. It feels a lot like people on both sides are either speaking with those who agree with them, or speaking at those who disagree. I don't see a lot of constructive conversations. I see some, but not a lot.
