Thunderstorms with freezing rain in the Texas panhandle. Hard pass.

U.S. Route 54 is not where I'd want to be driving right now.

We got lucky. We're about 30 miles south of where the storm started. We had nothing while the Portland area got a foot. But the week before, we got plenty of ice and freezing rain, more than Portland got.

    Well......the storm is finally over.
Roughly 1/2 inch of ice, 5-6 inches of snow on top.
Could have been a lot worse. Towns an hour from here got over an inch of ice.

When you're inside and not out running around in that krap, thunder-snow is one of the coolest things you'll ever see.

Way to go, you dense son of a bitch.
I drove through a very very heavy thundersnow for about 45 miles last night, and it was fucking miserable.
Had to get out at least 3 times to smack all the slush off the windshield wipers.
Damnest weather thing I've ever been a part of.
It was 60 here yesterday morning, then that debacle last night, then 65 today til about 4:00, then they're calling for up to 8 inches of snow here by Sunday night.
    Fuckabuncha Mother Nature.

My family is driving home into that. I tried to get them to stay out here tonight but they have to work tomorrow.
