Given the paucity of Reds' fans in the stands, ownership should be thanking their lucky stars the Cubs fans decided to show. Reds' fans certainly aren't.

Cubs fans turn into Red Sox fans in 3 ... 2 ... 1.

The butthurt in the replies to that is amusing.

    Five-inning Jake went six!

Actually, it was a decent outing after a terrible first inning. He gave up four in the first, but hung around through six and the Cubs are up, 11-6, in the eighth.

By hanging around, scattering hits, and getting the win, he boosted his RAW. He also picked up an important RBI.

If like one or two posters pretended to understand why RAW or peanut butter was supposed to be funny could we put them to bed?

RAW is an important measurement of player capability and potential. It will be around for a long time.

No question. It's just funny to see Reds' fans making fun of them when there are more Cubs fans at a game in Cincinnati than there are Reds' fans.

These Pirates unis may be the best ever. Did Omar Moreno throw out the first pitch today?

I'll probably regret asking this, but is (and if so how) RAW different from WAR?
Also, do the sabermetric heads just spend the entire offseason getting baked and figuring up acronyms that they'll just shoehorn an overly complicated statistical formula into later on, and then get all pissy when no one understands why the hell this brand new stat that appeared out of nowhere one night is suddenly the most important stat ever devised?

RAW focuses on the importance of RBI and wins. Other components include intangibles, eye test, and veteran influence potential.
