When I signed up for SJ.com, I wanted to sign up as WOMBAT, which I use on other sites, and it's my call sign like Maverick and Goose.

But, someone had claimed Wombat years ago and had zero posts.

Jeff offered to switch me over, and I seriously considered it.

But Riptide told me he thought "Vombatus" had panache. That might have been before I had firmly cemented myself around here as being a bit perverse.

I'm sticking with VB for now, but really, I'm WOMBAT.

Which is also a computer science acronym that means Waste Of Money, Brains And Time.

Kind of fitting, don't you think?

Solid explanation. And the avatar with Australia's second-best beer is also well-played.

    What's the first-best beer? It sure isn't Foster's.

    XXXX?

Ah, okay. I do like those. Bottle fermented with sediment, IIRC.

That's the one. I recall having had several different varieties, but it was in one night, so "recall" might be a bit of a stretch.
