Good for his 27 and 10 -- yes, he's a fantastic talent -- but Cousins is a Starman-esque head-case who will be the Pelicans' soon-to-be 200 million dollar headache.

Given this paltry haul, one wonders what if any offer Danny Ainge made for Cousins. A boxed set of Red on Roundball DVDs?

Checks out who is the Kings GM and understands Songbirds delusions.

Make it BluRay and the Kings would take it.

There is a report out there that the Lakers wouldn't even give up Brandon Ingram for Cousins. There is every chance that Ingram will be nothing but a jobber in this league.

Its pretty clear that Cousins is a Royal pain in the ass. The Kings can win 28 games a year just as easy without him.

I'm sure you're right about Cousins, but the Kings' ownership has quickly and quietly descended to the bottom rung of all franchises in America. James Dolan is more effective.

    That franchise basically doesn't exist.

How long is Boogie going to last under Alvin Gentry's coaching before demanding he be fired? Half a practice?

This will be fascinating, at least to me, to see this play out over the next couple years. If you're a team like the Pelicans, maybe the only way you can ever hope to knock off theWarriors is to build a dominant frontcourt. At some point the pendulum has to swing back towards frontcourt players if teams keep getting smaller and smaller, doesn't it? Maybe not this year, but maybe in a couple years this will be the giant-killing strategy? Then again, I thought the Grizzlies might have something like that up their sleeves, too. Not so much.

I don't think anyone would deny that Cousins is a headcase. But he's also been in probably the most chaotic NBA situation for his entire career. He did pretty well and seemed under control when Mike Malone was coaching the team... And they promptly fired him during a skid when Cousins was injured. Since the team holding your rights now has a huge monetary advantage when it comes to re-signing, they can also see how he works out alongside Davis before extending him. Hield would probably have to become an all-star for this to be an even swap, and the chances of that seem horribly low.

The NBA is endlessly entertaining. Just following this story for the past few months has been fascinating (much more than all the Knicks' bullshit) and I truly can't wait to see what the Pelicans look like going forward. Haven't a clue how this will turn out, which is wonderful.

Who needs fake news when the real thing is so hysterical.

The stories that will be told about the Kings over the last decade...man. They'll be great.

Hopefully Cousins appreciates Anthony Davis and doesn't try to shit all over the situation down there. If he's smart, he'll play nice, put up great stats, and write his ticket to a market where he might get some promotional opportunities.
