Many were, and many more weren't properly diagnosed. If you want to go back to the leather helmet days, you also have to understand that you were dealing with athletes who weren't nearly as big and fast as the guys on the field today.

    * I can't stand the taste of beer.

    * Julia Roberts and Lucille Ball are stomach-turners. Can't stand the sight of either one of them.

Even in the Sixties, P5 teams were starting offensive linemen who were 6-2, 225. That's a wide receiver today.

Average linemen in the NFL were still 260-270 until the Seventies.

A 100 yard dash time under ten seconds was worthy of note in features and game stories. That translates out to about a 5.0 40 time and about three steps behind the speed burners today.

Before the early Sixties in college, players were going both ways most of the time so they were usually dog-tired and dragging after the first quarter.

I'm no math wiz, but I think if you go 40 yards in five seconds it is going to be tough to go 100 in less than 10.

That's the oddest pairing of female celebs ever. Oh, and I love Lucy.

Was Lucille Ball ever considered, or intended to be, a sex symbol?

This is the first time I've ever heard her name connected with looks instead of humor.
