"Tuberville has expressed interest in the head coaching vacancy at Florida Atlantic University, according to the Palm Beach Post."
That's an interesting career trajectory...

 

Someone probably yelled at him to get a job.

Tubs was DC at Miami at one time and always recruited there wherever he was, so it makes a little sense.

 

I covered Auburn in 2006, a solid season with a Cotton Bowl win over Nebraska -- in a million years I wouldn't have guessed that Tubs would have the career since that he's had.

 

Perfect old coach job. No state income tax. Warm weather. No pressure while you're there. Get fired after three years and you don't have to move for retirement.

 

Fickell to Cincy appears to be done deal. University's BoT to meet in special session in the morning, presumably to approve the hire.

None of which explains why FAU would be interested.

 

Has Kiffin become so toxic that FAU is his only offer? Or is he getting on the redemption train?

 

It's clear FAU is after a name instead actually building a program.

 

It might be his only head-coaching offer. But I think he'll ultimately wind up as OC at LSU.

Saban doesn't appear to want him back at Alabama.

 

He had the Houston job but wouldn't agree to the buyout the school wanted.
