I thought you had a weird way of writing 0 until I noticed you didn't put 9-9 in brackets. Well played.

Never heard of this stuff happening when I was in high school. Obviously it probably did, and now I feel as if I missed out on the best parts of high school all over again.

I think there is a type of HS where this most often happens and you may not have gone to that type. They seem Southern, a little bit rural, and for some reason have young teachers. (Bad schools with retention issues, expanding HS, I don't know). This would never have happened at mine. With maybe a couple of exceptions, every teacher was over 40 and most in their 50's and 60's. I remember a few middle school teachers who were nice looking and one was young, so maybe it happened then, but the kid would have been 14.

As justglad notes, most of us who went to high school in the 1980s had Baby Boomer teachers who were in their 40s by the time we attended HS.

And if there were young teachers in their 20s, they certainly dressed conservatively like their older brethren. Britney Spears hadn't come along yet to make every piece of women's clothing brothel-worthy.:p

Plus, there's this whole Internet thing, which was built on pornography and the ability to set up secret sexual trysts ... makes it so much easier for teachers to Poin.

And for those of us who went to school in the 70s, there was the clash between the "Greatest Generation" way of doing things vs. the teachers who got their degrees/credentials in the midst of the 60s. But I did learn, subsequently, of two Poin situations in my class alone.

Good lord, I thought t_b_f's "sqrrt" was some kind of "squirt" reference.
